 Event Services & Communications Coordinator

This is an entry-level position, but the right candidate will gain significant experience with a wide range of responsibilities and work alongside management.  This role will assist with marketing, fundraising, planning, and execution of the National Championship Air Races and Air Show.  Written communications skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among candidates.  Add a shot of enthusiasm and passion for the job and you'll be our ideal candidate.   

Job Summary

  • Work directly with the Director of Event Services and assist in growing income and improve the sustainability .of the organization by proactively securing funds from new income streams.
  • Assist in researching and identifying corporate sponsors and donors to support the Reno Air Racing Association. 
  • Work with sponsors to execute overseeing the fulfillment of contract obligations. 
  • Manage communication between the Reno Air Racing Association and external marketing firms.
  • Assist in the development of all strategic and tactical marketing in initiatives and plans.
  • Monitor and assist with internal communication systems (website, social media, newsletters, emails, corporate announcements). 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the company's brand strategy.
  • Support the maintenance and development of a database.
  • Create and distribute customer surveys.
  • Effectively communicate and build professional/positive relationships with our partners.
  • Ensuring creative and production deadlines are met.
  • Pre-event coordination, on-site event support and post-event wrap up. 

Skill and Abilities Required

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism or equivalent.
  • Must have 1- 2 years experience in event coordination, planning or fundraising.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, able to deliver clear, concise information tailored to specific and varied audiences.
  • Competency in the use of social media outlets.
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and organized, ensuring quality and consistent output.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude and work independently with little guidance in a fast-paced, changing environment.
